When your baby is ready for solid food, it’s time for you to make your own baby food feeding. Hygiene is one of the things you must be very careful in preparing food since baby’s immunity isn’t as strong as ours yet. There are so many reasons why you should make your own baby food. Homemade baby food is healthier and more nutritious so you can always serve the food fresh and free of additives. By making your own food for your baby, you are in control to put what is in the food. Note that only high quality ingredients you must use in making your baby food. It’s better to avoid unwholesome ingredients that show up in commercial baby food.

Making baby food feeding is easy. It doesn’t have to be a special event to create your baby food. Baby can usually eat what the rest of the family is eating with very little special preparation. Have you ever though how much it cost to make your own baby food? The answer is it’s much cheaper. It costs only about forty and seventy cents for two ounces and you will get fresh, nutritious food. In fact, making your baby food can save your money as well. A healthy eating habit is something your baby can learn from healthy food. So, provide your baby with a greater variety of tastes and textures baby food feeding. Once again, it will lead your baby to healthy eating. If you have more budgets on your baby food, you could use organic fruits and vegetables at any store. They provide the best nutrition and flavor. The best part is they are pesticide free foods.

It is recommended starting your baby on rice cereal first. Many parents find, however, that fruits go over better for beginning eaters. Banana is a wonderful first food, as its creamy consistency is similar to mother’s milk. After introducing banana, try another fruit or vegetable. Then consider adding whole grains in the form of cereal. Brown rice, oats, and barley are all good choices. Next in baby food feeding, introduce a meat or poultry such as beef or chicken. If you are a vegetarian, introduce another protein source such as tofu or lentils. As time goes on, introduce a combination of tastes, such as cereal mixed with applesauce or peas and carrots.

The key is to be patient with your baby and allow at least a few days between newly added foods to make sure the baby doesn’t suffer any reactions of allergies. You may introduce new foods between three days and a week apart. This will help you identify allergy signs of your baby easier.

Preparation is another important thing to do in baby food feeding. You must sterilize every tool you use. Always wash your hands with soap to start this activity. Many beginner foods require nothing more than a small pan and a fork. Remember all the tools you need to make baby food are probably already in your kitchen. It is better you steam your baby food especially when you cook vegetables. Steaming makes them soft and keeps the vitamins and minerals. Another advantage of steaming is making your baby easier to chew.

If you don’t have much time in preparing baby food feeding, you may make it in large portion and store it into freezer. Don’t forget to give label of date you make the food. Your baby can consume the food up to about two months. Every time you want to give your little one the food, always warm the frozen food. You may use a cup placed in a saucepan of boiling water or microwave. Last but not least, enjoy this fun activity with your baby.
